Tips for Buying Texas Auto Insurance

If you have a car and you drive in the roadways of Texas you need to have auto insurance coverage, it is required by law to have at least the minimum coverage for your car. Buyiing liability insurance will show that you have a way for paying for any accidents you may be involved in while in Texas.

The financial responsibility law requires minimum coverage for the state that covers:

$25,000 for any injured person and up to $50,000 for each accident, and

At least $25,000 for damages done to property

However, you may find that the minimum coverage will not be enough to pay for the damages if you are held liable for an accident. It is recommended to buy more than the basic limits. You will receive a card from your insurance company proving that you have insurance when you purchase an auto policy.

You will need to present this card when the following happens:

are involved in an accident

register a new car

are asked by a law enforcement officer

renew you drivers license

and when you have your car inspected.

You should consider collision and comprehensive coverage, it will protect you in case of any form of damage to your vehicle due to wind, vandalism, storm, broken windows, animal collision, etc.

Do not just settle for the first insurance rate you find. Take the time to compare Texas insurance company rates and ask what discounts you may qualify for.
